Tires play a critical role in everything from road safety to fuel economy. Like all parts, tires eventually need replacing. New tires should last three to four years before they need replacing, though much of this depends on how often you drive and what your driving habits are.
You’ll be able to tell if you need new tires by looking at their tread. You may have heard of the penny test, which is a simple but effective way to gauge your tire’s tread life. All you have to do is take a penny and place it into one of the treads with Lincoln’s head pointed down. As long as any part of his head is covered by the tread, your tires still have life left. Anything below that warrants new tires.
